Buckeye Power Sales is a distributor of Kohler electrical power generators for Ohio and Indiana. We provide reliable power to keep public buildings, businesses, institutions, homes and other facilities up and running when the local utility can't. ** Due to company growth, we have a new, exciting job opportunity for a seasoned Sales Manager! **

This position will manage ~20 direct reports throughout Ohio and Indiana. We offer an outstanding compensation package including a competitive salary + commission, along with excellent benefits and a company vehicle.

Job purpose: Manages selling activities/staff to optimize and sustain sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors
  • Monitors customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
  • Resolves customer complaints/concerns
  • Directs and motivates staff; oversees training & development; provides performance evaluations; moderates L-10 meetings
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas
  • Develops new strategies, tactics, and plans for future growth of customer base
  • Provides ideas to Marketing that will help grow the product line
  • Develop, manage, and nurture new business partnerships and accounts to accomplish volume and profit goals
  • Assists accounting department with payment collection (as needed for disputes or tardiness)
  • Attends sales seminars, sales meetings, or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, regulations and products in the market place
  • Enforces company policies
  • Achieves business and organizational goals, visions, and objectives
  • Identifies problems and provides alternative courses of action
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
  • Understands Sandler Sales process and incorporates into meetings and strategy
  • Must be able to drive distances; local & occasional overnight stays to maintain relationship with sales personnel at all locations and attend job related functions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Conforms with the core values of BPS
  • Experience managing and motivating an outside sales team
  • Experience in developing sales strategies and performance metrics
  • Leadership ability, entrepreneurial attitude and good team player
  • 5+ yrs. experience in sales and management desired
  • Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability through company insurer
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Above average math skills; able to calculate discounts, gross profit, percentages
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to influence others
  • Capable of preserving confidential and sensitive material
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task required
  • Computer skills to include MS office products (Word, Excel, Outlook); data entry
  • Must represent the company in a positive manner at all times including a professional appearance
  • Must be able to pass background check and periodic drug screens & license checks
